Data-Driven Performance in the J/100
Thorski’s pursuit of performance extends to competitive sailing, where we have applied aerospace engineering discipline to a J/100 racing program. Like any other racing, success in sailing demands fanatical attention to aerodynamics, weight reduction, and situational awareness. At Thorski Design, we excel at translating those demands into successful engineering solutions.
For the 2025 season, Eric engineered a complete instrumentation and telemetry platform for the team, including:
- Multiple new displays, network system, and high rate sensors
- Custom software to integrate several legacy instruments with new systems
- Wireless telemetry via our smartwatch app and other mobile tools
This integration gave the crew real-time access to race-critical data, enabling tactical decisions that translate directly into performance gains. The J/100 project highlights how Thorski Design merges mechanical engineering, electronics integration, and performance data acquisition into a cohesive winning package.
